GREENVILLE, SC – November 30, 2016 – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), the County-chartered organization tasked with advancing the area’s economic growth, announced today that Ashland, a premier global specialty chemicals company, is expanding its existing Greenville County operations in order to accommodate continued growth. This new expansion is projected to bring at least $5.6 million of new capital investment to the Upstate.
A Fortune 500 company with customers in more than 100 countries, Ashland serves a wide range of consumer and industrial markets, including adhesives, architectural coatings, automotive, construction, energy, food and beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical.
Ashland’s Greenville County manufacturing site, which is located at 410 Old Pelzer Road in Piedmont, S.C., produces high-performance, pressure-sensitive adhesives and specialty resins. Ashland will be making upgrades to its infrastructure and production capabilities to support strategic growth in the specialty water-based adhesives markets.
